Nelson Linscott, resident of Kittery, has been shopping at Fair Tide for as long as he can remember.  You can find Nelson every morning browsing the racks looking for a good deal. It’s easy to call him a regular. “Fair Tide has great product. The clothes are high quality and are set at a great price,” he comments.

His secret to shopping is persistence. He admits he is often in twice, sometimes even three times a day, eager to find a precious something.

Since the deals are so good the best items get sold fast,” he shares, which is why he has made shopping at Fair Tide a part of his daily morning routine. Some days he comes out empty handed, but the next he may be loaded with bags of loot.

From winter boots to classic novels, Nelson can find it all at Fair Tide. “Everything I’m currently wearing is from Fair Tide,” he shares looking down at his outfit.

After years of shopping there Nelson describes his outings to Fair Tide as, “Going in to talk with friends.” The relationship he has developed with the women who work there is nothing but precious. He comments that they will often alert him of possible items of interest as he walks in the door.

“Fair Tide is different from other thrift stores. The people, but mostly just the good deals.” He shares he doesn’t just love the clothes, but he also greatly admires what they stand for, recognizing the huge impact they have on the local homeless community. It is thanks to regulars like Nelson that Fair Tide is able to bring in enough profits to truly make a difference in the community through their housing and supportive services program.

Increasing sales for the past several years, including an all-time high of $190,000 last year, ensure that Fair Tide’s role in the community will only grow!  Come see what treasures you can find at the Fair Tide thrift store!
